John Coughlin is a seasoned wealth management and investment professional. Prior to joining Salin Bank as a Wealth Management Business Development Officer, John was Vice President and Business First Development Officer for First Financial Bank where he was responsible for all new wealth management business in the state of Indiana in the areas of Private Wealth, Personal Trust, and Retirement Plan Services.
Before that, John served as Vice President and Business Development Officer at Regions Bank from 2007 to 2013. During his time there, John was responsible for institutional and private wealth for new and existing business in the three-state area of Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky. In addition, he coordinated all new business development activities in the Wealth Management Group. This included uncovering opportunities, developing relationships and building client teams. John’s efforts consistently placed him in the top five of BDOs in the company, helping him achieve Chairman’s Club, Triple Crown, and Sales achievement awards.
John’s entry into the financial services industry began in 1989 when he joined Charles Schwab & Co. as a representative. He was promoted to Branch Manager and moved to Indianapolis from Atlanta to open and manage the new Carmel office of Charles Schwab from 1995 to 1999 when he left to join National City Bank. John graduated from the University of Alabama, with a Bachelor Degree in Communications.

Having begun his financial services career in 1974, initially joining the staff of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), a federal bank regulator, Mr. Roederer joined Salin Bank and Trust Company in 1999 as the senior investment professional.

For more than 30 years,  Mr. Roederer has had the opportunity to participate in some of the most sophisticated, often quantitative, techniques that are applied to investment management.

Mr. Roederer  believes that to control risk and add value to client portfolios, the most advanced, yet proven, ideas must be applied.  This is an ever evolving and continuing process.  He also oversees the trust group’s operations area.


Bill Varanka

Bill Varanka brings an impressive professional background in Wealth Management and Financial Services to his role as Vice President Wealth Management Business Development Officer Salin Bank.
Before joining Salin Bank’s Wealth Management team, Bill served as Vice President, Wealth Management Officer, for First Midwest Bank.  Among his responsibilities, he implemented a Continuing Education program for attorneys and accountants; built an external network of referral sources in Northwest Indiana and Chicago; and managed 17 clients with invested assets of $97 million and loans of $120 million.
Prior to that, Bill held the position of Vice President, Trust Officer at Horizon Trust & Investment Management. He also has held executive positions in Wealth Management, Investment Services, and Banking with other financial institutions beginning in 1993.

Bill graduated from the University of Notre Dame, with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree.

Theresa Walker

Theresa Walker brings 30-plus years of Investment and Administrative experience to personal, institutional, and employee benefit clients. In her role as Wealth Management Trust Officer, Theresa acts as a customer advocate in securing suitable products and services and making investment concepts easy to understand.

Prior to joining the Salin Wealth Management team, Theresa served as Vice President and Trust Officer at JPMorgan Chase Bank. Her most recent position was Relationship Manager for large, institutional Custodial accounts, including non-profits, hospitals, college endowments, etc. Prior to this role, Theresa’s responsibilities entailed a broad mix of Custodial and Investment Management clients that included 401ks and IRAs.

Theresa is a member of the Indiana Benefits Conference, a professional group whose focus is to stay current on Employee Benefit and 401k-related initiatives. Theresa also is a member of the Indianapolis Rotary Club.

Theresa graduated from Indiana University, with a Bachelor Degree in Finance.
