As President and CEO of Salin Bank, James Alender provides strategic and financial leadership for the entire banking organization. In addition to his home-office duties in Indianapolis, Alender regularly travels the entire state of Indiana to visit with customers and employees.
Prior to his appointment as Salin Bank’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Alender served as Chief Operating Officer for the bank. In that role, Alender focused his efforts on finance and accounting, retail banking, wealth management and operations.
The central Indiana native has more than 20 years of experience as a commercial bank executive. His banking career has included stints at Key Bank as the District President and at Society National Bank serving in the same capacity. He also served as a Senior Vice President for Ameritrust National Bank in Indianapolis and Union Bank and Trust in Kokomo.
Alender is a recipient of the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs Service Award and the Indiana University Kokomo Distinguished Service Award. He is actively involved with the Indiana University-Kokomo Advisory Board, Kokomo Noon Rotary Club, American College Healthcare Executives, and the Kokomo Country Club.
Alender is a graduate of Krannert School of Industrial Management at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and Marketing. He is a graduate of the School of Banking from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin.

John Frieburg has an extensive professional background in banking and finance. From 1974 to 1993, John served in various positions for The Bank and Trust Company of Arlington Heights, Glenview State Bank and First Colonial Bank Shares. During that time, he acquired new experience in Customer Service, Operations, Loan Collections, Consumer and Commercial Loan Origination, Underwriting and Portfolio Management and Lending.
John also has impressive leadership and senior and executive management skills. From 1993 to 1997, he served as President of Harris Bank Huntley; President of Harris Bank Rolling Meadows from 1997 to 2006; and Market President of BMO Harris Central Indiana from 2006 to 2013.
In his role with Salin Bank as Chief Credit Officer, John will be responsible for all functions of the bank’s credit administration and loan compliance, in addition to working retail customers and businesses to help them grow and achieve their financial goals.
John received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Behavior from Northwestern University and his MBA from the Kellogg School, Northwestern University.

As the Acting Chief Financial Officer of Salin Bank, Chad Key wears multiple hats - including that of Internal Auditor, Cashier, Chairman of the Asset and Liability team, and Manager of a $175 million investment portfolio.

Chad began his career at Salin Bank in 2008 as an Accounting Officer and was promoted in 2010 to Vice President of Finance. Among his stand-out achievements in that position, Chad served as the innovator behind the development of an Excel expense reimbursement software that the entire company currently uses for reimbursement of business expenses. During this time, Chad also implemented cost-center accounting and fund transfer pricing to improve profitability and reporting functions. The improved process updates weekly, takes one hour to complete, and incorporates branch, region, and bank totals.

In 2013, Chad was promoted to Salin Bank’s Senior Vice President of Finance and, in 2015, to the role of Acting Chief Financial Officer. Before his tenure with Salin Bank, Chad served as Assistant Controller for RCS Management Corporation in Westfield, Indiana.

Chad graduated from Indiana University, with a Bachelor’s Degree and a concentration in Accounting.

Outside of Salin Bank, Chad is a Crossroads Community Church Member and a manager of the Russiaville Little League.

Tim leads Salin Bank’s Deposit Operations, Loan Operations, Project Management, Information Technology, and Enterprise Risk Management which encompasses compliance, security, and regulatory management. 

Tim’s broad leadership experience in banking ranges from sales management to systems and operations. Prior to joining Salin Bank, Tim spent many years working in sales and operational leadership roles with a large national bank.

Tim holds an MBA from Wayne State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from University of Michigan.  He is a graduate of the School of Banking from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin.

As Senior Vice President, Chief Administration Officer of Salin Bank, Jane Richardson is responsible for all functions of the bank's human resources management, marketing and corporate training.  Jane brings an extensive professional background in human resources management and employment law, along with critically important leadership and team development skills to the bank.

Prior to her appointment as Senior Vice President, Chief Administration Officer, Jane held leadership roles at both Career Consultants LLC from 2013 - 2016 and the St. Vincent Heart Center from 2004 - 2013 where she cultivated workplace environments with an emphasis on employee enrichment, employee engagement, and a positive leadership culture.

Jane received her Bachelor of Arts with High Distinction degree in Political Science from Indiana University, Bloomington and her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Robert H. McKinney School of Law, Indiana University, Indianapolis.
