As President and CEO of Salin Bank, James Alender provides strategic and financial leadership for the entire banking organization. In addition to his home-office duties in Indianapolis, Alender regularly travels the entire state of Indiana to visit with customers and employees.
Prior to his appointment as Salin Bank’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Alender served as Chief Operating Officer for the bank. In that role, Alender focused his efforts on finance and accounting, retail banking, wealth management and operations.
The central Indiana native has more than 20 years of experience as a commercial bank executive. His banking career has included stints at Key Bank as the District President and at Society National Bank serving in the same capacity. He also served as a Senior Vice President for Ameritrust National Bank in Indianapolis and Union Bank and Trust in Kokomo.
Alender is a recipient of the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs Service Award and the Indiana University Kokomo Distinguished Service Award. He is actively involved with the Indiana University-Kokomo Advisory Board, Finance Committee of Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance, Kokomo Noon Rotary Club, American College Healthcare Executives, and the Kokomo Country Club.
Alender is a graduate of Krannert School of Industrial Management at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and Marketing. He is a graduate of the School of Banking from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin.
John Frieburg, III

John Frieburg has an extensive professional background in banking and finance. From 1974 to 1993, John served in various positions for The Bank and Trust Company of Arlington Heights, Glenview State Bank and First Colonial Bank Shares. During that time, he acquired new experience in Customer Service, Operations, Loan Collections, Consumer and Commercial Loan Origination, Underwriting and Portfolio Management and Lending.
John also has impressive leadership and senior and executive management skills. From 1993 to 1997, he served as President of Harris Bank Huntley; President of Harris Bank Rolling Meadows from 1997 to 2006; and Market President of BMO Harris Central Indiana from 2006 to 2013.
In his role with Salin Bank as Chief Credit Officer, John will be responsible for all functions of the bank’s credit administration and loan compliance, in addition to working retail customers and businesses to help them grow and achieve their financial goals.
John received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Behavior from Northwestern University and his MBA from the Kellogg School, Northwestern University.

Tim leads Salin Bank’s Deposit Operations, Loan Operations, Project Management, Information Technology, and Enterprise Risk Management which encompasses compliance, security, and regulatory management.
Tim’s broad leadership experience in banking ranges from sales management to systems and operations. Prior to joining Salin Bank, Tim spent many years working in sales and operational leadership roles with a large national bank.
Tim holds an MBA from Wayne State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from University of Michigan. He is a graduate of the School of Banking from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin.

Robin brings more than 20 years of Human Resources leadership in banking. At Salin Bank, Robin provides business strategies and operational priorities to the Retail Banking, Human Resources, Corporate Training/Development, Marketing, Executive Administration, Mortgage and Wealth Management teams that serve our clients and crewmembers across the state of Indiana.
Areas of concentration include retail sales, retail administration, retail operations, change management, talent management, workforce diversity, leadership coaching, performance management, compensation planning, and benefits administration.
Robin is actively involved in the United Way of Central Indiana; Habitat for Humanity Family Selection Committee; VITA Tax Volunteer; HR Committee for the Indiana Banker’s Association; the Human Resources Association of Central Indiana and is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management.
Robin holds a degree in Accounting from Indiana University.
